Literature Text

There is a train, rattling along its designated track. Its destination is unknown, the duration of the trip is unknown.

There is only one person in the train. This single passenger's final stop is at the train's final destination. In the meanwhile, the train sometimes stops at other places.

Every time the train stops, the person gets up, walks to the doors, and peeks out. Sometimes that's all they do. Take a peek, and then go back to their seat.

But most of the time, they get out and find new people at that station. They make friends with these people, laughing, crying, and just living together - until the train's whistle blows, and the conductor shouts: "Train leaving for next stage of life!!!!"

Sometimes the friends they make follow them to the next station, but most of the time they leave, push the person onto the train and remain at their station, frozen in time and frozen in the passenger's memories as a time they can't go back to.

On and on, the cycle repeats, with new stations, new friends coming, old friends going, until the now-worn out train chugs to a stop at the last station. The conductor shakes the passenger's hand, pats them on the back, and sends them off with a smile and a "it was a good life."

Even as the passenger shuffles off the train, the conductor is already preparing the train for the next passenger, carefully mopping up all the tears and blood that were shed when the previous passenger said goodbye to a friend that they didn't want to let go of.

The train is now ready. It starts chugging again. The interior is comfortable, even luxurious, all ready to receive the new passenger.

"All aboard!!!!!!" The conductor calls, ringing the bell furiously.
